Healing 360

The world sees the outer you

The inner you should shine brightly through you

And the world will gain insight.

Alexis Walter

Alexis graduated from our Spring 2019 class. She is so smart, supportive, and always willing to help her fellow team members. When she started our program, Alexis was a little skeptical about trusting the other women. Eventually she warmed up and found a sisterhood like no other. Alexis is not only a fantastic baker, she also has a beautiful talent for poetry. Read more about Alexis’s story below.

What circumstances brought you to where you were before you joined Together We Bake?

Alexis: My therapist said that this class will help me find people that are behind me no matter what.

What inspired you to apply to Together We Bake?

Alexis: It’s very rare to find people that will support you, so I was inspired by that possibility.

How has Together We Bake changed your perspective on life?

Alexis: Together We Bake has taught me that there are people on my side.

Has someone at Together We Bake (a fellow participant, a volunteer, an instructor, etc) had a particular influence on you?

Alexis: Inspirational, Loving Liz – her talking heals.

How would you describe Together We Bake?

Alexis: Together We Bake is enlightening, inspiring, and encouraging.

What is the most valuable thing you learned at Together We Bake?

Alexis: I learned that I am worth healing and moving forward.

What was the most challenging thing about the program? How did you overcome that challenge?

Alexis: It was hard at first to trust people, so being able to rely on others to help me was a challenge.

What is something you are proud of that you achieved because of your participation in Together We Bake?

Alexis: I am proud that I’ve allowed myself to have the courage to trust and rely on people.

What advice do you have for women considering applying to Together We Bake?

Alexis: It might be awkward at first, but it’s worth it to know the inner you. I started out not relying on anyone except myself. I didn’t think there were people behind me no matter what I did. Then I came to TWB and met wonderful people that saw me for who I was, and I found out that I can rely on people!
