Cassandra joined the TWB family for our Summer 2018 program. She quickly opened up to the group, allowing herself to be seen and vulnerable, which led to the other women in her class feeling comfortable enough to do the same. Cassandra is an entrepreneur, and she started a Mom’s Group, where she can live her passion of empowering mothers to be the best versions of themselves they can be. Read more about Cassandra’s story below.
What circumstances brought you to where you were before you joined Together We Bake?
Cassandra: Not being honest about my feelings towards others, only thinking of myself, putting a wall up, not allowing myself to be loved.
What inspired you to apply to Together We Bake?
Cassandra: Sitting in on a meeting hearing how they help women get their power back; a second chance.
How has Together We Bake changed your perspective on life?
Cassandra: Yes, it has. It’s given me the drive I used to have to go back to putting Cassandra first. Also hearing the stories of the other women really inspired me. I thought I had problems; mine were small compared to what these women have been through.
Has someone at Together We Bake (a fellow participant, a volunteer, an instructor, etc) had a particular influence on you?
Cassandra: Yes, all of the women, but Kristian has 6 babies and still manages to make it everyday and wants better and went for it, making her babies her number one priority.
How would you describe Together We Bake?
Cassandra: Life saving, the love and encouragement you get is so awesome.
What do you feel is the most valuable thing Together We Bake does?
What is the most valuable thing you learned at Together We Bake?
Cassandra: I am somebody. My past is my past. Stop feeling sorry and start doing what God put me on this earth for.
Do you have any specific memories of experiences at Together We Bake?
Cassandra: How this group of women love and empower each other.
What was the most challenging thing about the program? How did you overcome that challenge?
Cassandra: No challenges for me, I set my mind and got the job done.
What is something you are proud of that you achieved because of your participation in Together We Bake?
Cassandra: Getting my ServSafe. I am now able to add catering to my event communications.
What advice do you have for women considering applying to Together We Bake?
Cassandra: Do it. It will change your life for the better. You won’t regret it.
