Meet Elice

Published May 11, 2021

Meet Elice! Elice graduated from our Winter 2021 program empowered and motivated. She is a loving, devoted mother and grandmother, and she shared her kindness and compassion with her fellow Team Members each day. Despite her nerves around the test, Elice passed her ServSafe exam. We are so proud of all Elice has accomplished and cannot wait to continue supporting her in the future! Read more about Elice's story below.

What circumstances brought you to where you before you joined Together We Bake?

Elice: I needed an outlet, my depression was unbearable.

What inspired you to apply to Together We Bake?

Elice: I saw TWB on tv, and I knew I would have a bonding experience with women from different walks of life.

How has Together We Bake changed your perspective on life?

Elice: More thank you I’m living.

Has someone at Together We Bake (a fellow participant, volunteer, instructor, etc.) had a particular influence on you?

Elice: Yes OMG, Stephanie and I were in touch with each other a year before I joined class. Stephanie has become a great listener and friend. She is amazing. Stephanie has been there for me mentally, emotionally. I can’t say enough good (positive) things about her. I feel as though Stephanie and I have endured this journey together. I'm not sure really how I would have handled some obstructions in my life without her. I’m blessed to have her in my life. This is not the end just the beginning.

How would you describe Together We Bake?

Elice: Inspirational.

What do you feel is the most valuable thing Together We Bake does?

Elice: TWB gives women second chances. It empowers women.

Elice: I learned to respect others, even if they are different.

Do you have any specific memories of experiences at Together We Bake?

Elice: Test-Kitchen-meeting everyone face to face for the first time.

What was the most challenging thing about the program? How did you overcome those challenges?

Elice: Being in a virtual class was very challenging, but my classmates and instructors helped me overcome it!

What is something you are proud of that you achieved because of your participation in Together We Bake?

Elice: Passing my ServSafe test.

What advice do you have for the women considering applying to Together We Bake?
