Victoria graduated from our Winter 2020 class. She was a calm, grounding presence in the group and always knew how to make her teammates feel better. Victoria is a quick learner and talented artist. We are so proud of how she has grown over the eight week program! Read more about Victoria's story below.
What circumstances brought you to where you were before you joined Together We Bake?
Victoria: I was in a group called Job Ave. in Arlington, VA. There, I was told about Together We Bake.
What inspired you to apply to Together We Bake?
Victoria: One day I visited Together We Bake, and I liked everything they had to offer through their program.
How has Together We Bake changed your perspective on life?
Victoria: I got to know a lot of people. That's difficult for me, but I know I will stay in touch with them.
Has someone at Together We Bake (a fellow participant, a Volunteer, an instructor, etc.) had a particular influence on you?
Victoria: Everyone was great, I learned from all the instructors.
How would you describe Together We Bake?
Victoria: Together We Bake is a very warm, nice place.
What do you feel is the most valuable thing Together We Bake does?
Victoria: The program is great. Not only was the training impactful, but the empowerment groups were very valuable.
What is the most valuable thing you learned at Together We Bake?
Victoria: I learned how to work as a team.
Do you have any specific memories of experience at Together We Bake?
Victoria: I really enjoyed working on the business team.
What was the most challenging thing about the program? How did you overcome that challenge?
Victoria: Getting up very early to start my day was a challenge, but I did it!
What is something you are proud of that you achieved because of your participation in Together We Bake?
Victoria: I passed my ServSafe exam and I'm so proud of myself!
What advice do you have for women considering applying to Together We Bake?
Victoria: Together We Bake is a wonderful program where you learn a lot about baking and food safety. The empowerment classes were nice, and I'm so happy I was able to come and meet all the ladies.
