Together We Bake Joins the JFF 75 Million Initiative: Why Quality Jobs Are Essential for the Women We Serve

A Message from Executive Director Tricia Allen

We are thrilled to share that Together We Bake has become a part of Jobs for the Future’s (JFF) 75 Million Initiative, a pioneering and collaborative endeavor aimed at connecting 75 million individuals to quality jobs by 2033. This partnership is a significant step towards our shared vision of transforming the workforce system and creating real economic opportunities for those who have been historically marginalized from stable, dignified employment.

This movement is more than just a goal—it’s a shared vision to transform the workforce system and make economic opportunity real for people who have been historically excluded from stable, dignified employment. It also aligns powerfully with our mission at TWB: to empower women through workforce training, personal development, and meaningful employment.

What Is a Quality Job?

According to JFF, a quality job offers:

  • Compensation: A living wage, access to benefits, and paid leave
  • Advancement: Clear pathways for career growth and skill development
  • Structure: Fair, predictable schedules, job security, and safe working conditions
  • Agency & Culture: Worker voice, inclusion, and a sense of dignity and belonging

For the women we serve—most of whom are navigating barriers like low income, trauma, incarceration, addiction recovery, or homelessness—quality jobs aren’t a luxury. They are a lifeline.

Why Quality Jobs Matter for Our Participants

At Together We Bake, we don’t just train women to enter the workforce—we prepare them to thrive in it. That means helping them secure more than “any job.” We support them in accessing employment that offers:

  • Stability to support their families
  • Respect in the workplace
  • Growth that builds confidence and a future
  • Income that allows them to step out of survival mode truly

Far too often, women facing systemic barriers are channeled into low-wage, high-turnover jobs with little room for advancement or voice. These are not the jobs that build long-term economic security or community health. We’re working to change that.

TWB’s Strategy for Job Quality

As a social enterprise, Together We Bake is not just focused on training—we’re committed to:

  • Increasing our pool of employer partnerships by 25% that share our commitment to inclusive, high-quality work
  • Establishing an Industry Advisory Council to help inform the definition of ‘in-demand skills’ and audit our work to ensure our participants are job-ready
  • Developing career pathways that match participants’ interests, strengths, and ambitions
  • Advocating for job quality policies that make the workplace more equitable for all

We witness firsthand the profound impact of a quality job on a woman's life. It's not just a job, it's a transformation that ripples out to her children, her community, and her future, inspiring hope and a brighter tomorrow.

Joining a National Movement

By joining the 75 Million coalition, Together We Bake stands alongside hundreds of other organizations that believe in a better future of work—one that centers equity, inclusion, and opportunity.

We're proud to be part of this effort and even more committed to preparing the women we serve for jobs that value their potential, not punish their pasts.

Together, we rise. Together, we empower. And together—with bold partners like JFF—we help build an economy that works for everyone.
