Who makes TWB products?
TWB products are handmade by our production staff and/or current Team Members.
Do you offer gluten-free or vegan products?
All ingredients in TWB Trail Mix are gluten-free and vegan; however, this product is not certified gluten-free because our kitchen also processes another product that contains flour.
TWB Cinnamon-Pecan Granola uses gluten-free oats but is not certified gluten-free because our kitchen also processes another product that contains flour.
We do not offer any other gluten-free or vegan products at this time.
Where can I find an ingredient list on your products?

Where can I pick up TWB products in person?
You can place an order on our Shop Page for pickup at TWB, located at 212 South Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.

What are the shelf lives of your products?
Chocolate Chip Cookies: For maximum freshness, eat your cookies within 3-4 days of receiving them. Refrigerate them, and they will stay fresh for up to two weeks. Freeze them and they will stay delicious for up to 6 months.
Granola: Store in a cool, dry place for up to 8 months.
Trail Mix: Store in a cool, dry place for up to 8 months.

How do I apply to the program?

Where is TWB located?
TWB's programs are typically held at 212 S. Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria.
When is your next program?
We typically hold three programs throughout the year in Winter, Spring, and Fall. Click here for upcoming program dates.
How long is each program?
Programs range from 8-10 weeks. Team Members meet every week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
What will I get out of doing this program?
You get what you put in!
You will actively learn and participate in food production, food safety education, business administration, and overall job readiness. We also teach empowerment and life-skills classes to help Team Members develop self-confidence, healthy coping strategies, and a strong support network as they move toward self-sufficiency. Each woman graduates job-ready and empowered. Upon passing the ServSafe exam, they also receive a nationally-recognized ServSafe certificate, resulting in preferential hiring and higher wages.
What are the next steps after I apply to your program?
Our team will review your application and reach out to schedule an interview through the contact information you provide in your application. Decisions are made on a rolling basis. You will be notified of your status by phone or email.
What is a ServSafe certification?
The ServSafe Food Protection Manager’s Certification Course is the nationally recognized course from the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation. Team members are instructed and tested on the material. This certification allows for preferential hiring, a higher starting salary, and opportunities for supervisory positions.
Will this program help me get a job?
TWB is a workforce training program; we do not place Team Members into jobs, but we do provide the necessary resources to help them gain and maintain employment. Our team will work with you both during the program and after graduation to help you step into and navigate a career.
Do you provide lunch for Team Members?
Yes! We provide lunch for Team Members every day we have class.
Do you cover transportation costs?
Whether you are using public transportation or have your own vehicle, we will provide a transportation stipend in order for you to get to and from Together We Bake.
Do you offer childcare?
Unfortunately, we do not offer childcare at this time. However, our team will work to connect you with resources.
Do you offer a stipend for completing the program?
Yes! Upon completion of the program, Team Members receive a stipend based on punctuality and attendance. Being enrolled in TWB is like having a part-time job; we expect you to show up on time, work in a team setting, and be open to learning so you are set up for success.
What's next after I graduate the program?
TWB is an empowered community that will continue supporting you well after graduation. Whether you need employment, access to services, or social support, we're here for you!
We host regular alumni events that are open to our entire community of graduates, and we stay connected to alumni through multiple platforms.

Shipping/Fulfillment
How will I know if my order has been received?
If you included your email address upon checking out, you will receive an emailed confirmation immediately.
When will my order ship?
If your order contains any cookies: We bake and ship our freshly baked cookies Monday-Wednesday each week. The deadline to order cookies to ship for the week is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesdays.
If your order does not contain cookies: We ship within 2 business days of an order placed Monday through Friday. We are closed and do not ship over the weekend.
What service do you use to ship orders?
We use USPS Priority Mail, which typically has 1-3 day delivery time in the Mid-Atlantic region and up to 5 days delivery time if the address is near or on the west coast.
How will I know if my order shipped?
You will receive a shipping confirmation email once your package is scanned in by USPS.
When will my order arrive?
Your emailed shipping confirmation contains tracking information.
How are shipping charges calculated?
Shipping charges vary based on address and weight of products purchased. For an accurate estimate of shipping charges please proceed through the checkout process, entering in your items and address.
Do you offer discounts on bulk amounts?
A quantity of over 200 pieces may receive a discount. Please email orders@togetherwebake.org for further information.
How do I cancel my order?

Your donation fuels our mission to empower women through workforce training, personal development and mentorship. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to creating a world where women have the tools and support they need to thrive.
What is the Empowerment Breakfast?
Together We Bake's annual Empowerment Breakfast is our largest community event and fundraiser of the year. Since 2017, the event has enabled us to reduce barriers to employment for women working towards self sufficiency in our community. It is also a powerful celebration of the resilience and strength of our Alumni community and an opportunity to share impact and plans for the future.
How can I and/or my business sponsor the Empowerment Breakfast or another TWB event?

How is TWB funded?
TWB has diversified and robust funding streams. Revenue is generated from foundation support, sales revenue of TWB products, individual donors, in-kind donations, and corporate support. The combination of these resources provides financial sustainability and security for TWB's programs and mission.
What is a social enterprise?
TWB is a nonprofit social enterprise! All proceeds from the sales of our handmade products go toward our workforce training and empowerment program.
When was TWB founded?
TWB was founded in 2012 and is based in Alexandria, Virginia.
